Architectural Licensing
Registered Architect Association
CANSANO Consulting is a design and planning firm that associates with a licensed Architect(s) which allows us to offer 'Full Architectural Services' to our clients on most commercial, residential, hospitality and light industrial projects. We can provide an 'Architectural Stamp' for either Government Approvals or Permit Sets or any other services that require a stamp. This association is structured such that the firm functions like a single entity architectural and planning firm that appears seamless to our clients.
Also, many municipalities and county jurisdictions require stamps for not only Permit Sets but for the design review process. Many mountain towns in the country, especially the ski and beach resort towns, require a stamp for these services. In Colorado the cities of Aspen and the towns of Telluride and Mountain Village (Telluride Ski Resort Properties) require stamps for drawing sets submitted to the Design Review Board entities.
Collaborations with other Architects
When CANSANO'S workload does not allow us to take on new work with our existing staff we offer new clients the option to bring in other 'Associated Architects' that we have worked with in the past and build a team that is just as professional as a CANSANO team. Typically, then CANSANO is contracted to direct and/or participate in the conceptual and schematic design phases throughout the project with the associated firms. The client is always involved in the 'Architect Selection' process with CANSANO.
We typically reach out to specific architectural firms with unique qualifications and experience with the project type and specialities that may be required or desired for a particular project. That's why this collaborative approach typically benefits the owner or developer because we assemble a team with exceptional talent and availability that is uniquely suited to the needs of your project.
When a collaboration such as this is desired, typically the licensed Architect, and/or architectural firm will be considered the 'Architect of Record' on the project and contracted as such and CANSANO Consulting, or any other engineering or design consultants, will be contracted as a 'consultant' to the 'Architect of Record.'
Licensing Disclaimer
Ascenzo Di Giacomo and CANSANO Staff
Ascenzo Di Giacomo, the principal and team leader of CANSANO Consulting, and some design professionals working directly under the company name, ARE NOT licensed architects. Ascenzo and our 'unlicensed' associates endeavor themselves to NOT represent themselves as licensed professionals in any way and any reference to that is unintentional. The firm cannot be held liable for any misrepresentation of this fact.

Land Planning and Interiors Consultants
Landscape Architects
Most land planning, and many architectural projects, require a Licensed Landscape Architect's participation in the design and approval process and for permitting. If this is the case, we will engage professionals that we have either worked with or sought out for their unique talents and experience. We strongly feel that a Landscape Architect participation is key to the success of all residential projects. Our goal is to integrate the plantings and hardscape designs which will enhance the finished architectural concept. We have worked with some of the most talented Landscape Architect's in the western US. We are proud of our associations and the successful projects that have resulted from them.

Interior Designers
Over the years, working on many architectural projects, including many tenant improvements, we have collaborated with some of the most talented Interior Designers in the field. We feel that our understanding that -paying attention to detail- in all aspects of the design makes for high quality, extremely livable and often publishable projects. We also feel that the interior features of a building are what most people relate to and interact with the the most. Creative and functional interior design is what makes truly amazing projects stand out from the rest. Typically, licensing for the interior design is not required on Permit Sets, but we usually work with certified and licensed interiors professionals anyway, because it's the right way to design quality projects.

Professional Licensing Information
Residential - Single-family Projects
Professional licensing and architectural stamps ARE NOT required in most municipalities in Colorado and the west for residential projects up to three (3) units in a single building. Some municipalities however, primarily in the mountain resort towns, DO require an architect's stamp for Government Approvals for design and planning and for Permit Sets submitted to the building official. In many jurisdictions a Structural stamp is also required for Permit Set submittals. For many single-family projects, even if it is not required, architects typically consult with and engage consulting engineers for Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical work.
